The end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 was a time of change for BLENNZ Napier. After over 20 years service, Renee Jones retired from the position of manager and Marian Bold from her administrator role. Celebrations were had to mark both retirements.

In term one, the team welcomed two familiar faces. Lyndsey Starkey took on the role of manager after having worked as a Senior Resource Teacher Vision within the Auckland South team. Following the initiative to provide a counselling service, Jillian Applegate was appointed to lead a team of four counsellors. Jillian was already well known to the Napier team having previously worked as the Child and Family Social Worker/Counsellor for Blind Low Vision New Zealand.
